New place, New Art.

So I did the whole drive across the country with pretty much everything you own deal. It was exhausting.
I've finally felt settled in enough to post some new pictures. Hopefully I can get back on the daily posting. We'll see. Kinda need to find some sort of employment first.

First two pictures are of an idea I had about wedding dresses. More like color reversal on the the tux and the dress. I think my second picture is more "wedding-y" than the other one. But I had fun painting them. I like the bouquets the best.

I also started playing around with some characters I might make into a webcomic, or write up as a story, or something. Maybe not though, jury's still out.
I did draw some of them out though,

from left to right,
The Alchemist who miss placed his body, The most desirable girl in the world, The musician, the stone girl, and the sweetheart to the musician, the acrobat.
Weeeeird, I know. We'll see.

Three for tuesday!

Posted on 2009.08.19 at 03:22
Ok, so I failed to put anything up in the past two days. I'd give an excuse, but it would be so very lame that it would have to be put down out of it misery.
Buuuuuut,

I have three pictures to put up today!
Which honestly is almost as good as remembering to up date.
Ive been kicking around the idea to try drawing old characters (I'd draw new ones but I'm not in any active campaigns at the moment....) in different styles.
So today you get,
Bishop Doubleday - stain glass style

Echthelion via Mucha

And lastly, Beatrix done as an old japanese print

Dragon Done.

I went back and redid the legs on this sucker. It looked like some weird chicken dragon. Still not 100% on the picture (light source much?) but I'm calling it done. I adore the top half of the picture, and I can live with the bottom half.

Rest assured that whatever I put up next will be no where near as fancy.

thousands of tiny tiny scales....

Posted on 2009.08.15 at 02:53
More of the same I'm afraid. Dragon-fighting-picture is being more of a pain to color than previously imagined.
I was mucking around with it for most of the day. Starting to finally shape up though, and painting in all the tiny dragon scales is pretty much done, so yay for that.

I'm going to be moving in a bit, but I shall try to keep posting something as much as I can.

Step by step

Still plugging away at the picture from yesterday, I'd a done more, but it's my birthday, so there!

The dragon's gonna eventually be red, still getting base coats on and whatnot.

I lied about posting two pictures :P

Doomy doom doom doooom

Posted on 2009.08.13 at 01:56
Just cant seem to stop drawing my old Red Hand of Doom campaign. It was party perfection.
Here's the gang having a go a their favorite pastime, fighting dragons.
Hopefully I'll get this finished soon.

I somehow tricked my brain into thinking I'd posted something yesterday. I think I just stared at the internet too long. Whoops. Maybe two pictures tomorrow to make up for it.

Rating: Awesome

I colored an older picture of friends done as a adventuring party today! (with shiny new brushes of all things!)

It's nicely lined up by alignment, but I leave one to infer on their own how that goes.

Meeting a new friend.

Playing around with looks for my character in the perviously mentioned marine campaign, and decided to throw in a familiar face. Riley is re-playing his character Thymbraeus, (who I've drawn more than a few times, see various other entries). I'd like to think by end of their meeting she's tricked him into falling out of his boat.

It's like an underwater pleasantville

Now in color!

Not entirely pleased with how the water looks, but for the most party Im happy with it.

Worked on a possible idea for a city for the marine D&D campaign that a friend is starting up!

Just don't ask me how the plumbing works.

Snow in August.

It was so so hot today, that somehow my brain rebelled and I drew this.
I'm a summer girl for sure, but I do like to draw me some winter coats.
Expect more mermaids tomorrow.

Tablet time.

Posted on 2009.08.04 at 23:46
Played around with the tablet in photoshop today. I've never tried to really paint with it, so kind of an experiment of sorts.

not entirely pleased with it, but for a first try Im happy.

Perhaps I'll finish it tomorrow. Right now my wrist feels like its about to snap.

Bubbles!

More with the illustrator. Tomorrow perhaps back to basics.
Or maybe I'll work on making more bubble like bubbles....

I am still sans scanner or tablet so I've been playing with illustrator some more.

The girls are from some doodles I did a while back, I just redid them on the computer.

I'd forgotten how much fun vectors can be!

Try try again.

Ok Ok Ok.
Yes, I am very bad at doing this.
But this time Im going to do it better I SWEAR.
I Martzi,
Here by do declare that I am going to post a new drawing every day in August.
Not merely post a drawing but a drawing I have done on that day.
And Voila!

I am currently visiting my parents and am without a scanner or tablet, so its not a very good picture.
But it is a picture.
(I came up with the idea to play a mermaid druid with a narwhal animal companion, or vice versa for a campaign a friend purposed)

Better pictures to come.
I promise.

I thought since I've been mostly featuring group pictures here that I should show a little love to some of my own characters.
Course what better way do do that then with a group picture!

I guess I could also show some individual drawings of each of them. Starting with the statuesque lady on the end,
Dame Beatrix is a classy fighter/barbarian.
She is a simple girl with simple loves.
Her two large warmaces,

hitting things with her two large warmaces.
and her new baby white dragon, Bee. He's evil, but she loves him anyway.

Alright, enough for now,
I'll scrounge up some drawings of Gwen for my next post!

Updating-ly challenged.

Ok, so I'm not the best at this maintaining steady updates thing. Upshot is I have new shiny drawings to post. Mostly new D&D portraits, since apparently thats all I draw these days. To be fair, that's usually the only time where I let myself sit down and draw.

This is of the party in my friend Alex's Campaign, during a much happier time then what they are currently going through.

This one is of Jordan and Thymbraeus, and their respective cohort and familiar, Westley and Auspex.

For all the D&D drawing I do, there's really not alot of action. I guess I like to draw what character's do in their down time. (Even adventurer's need breaks)

Lastly to prove that I dont waste all my time drawing and coloring only pictures surrounding table top RPG's here's a doodle from my sketch book that got bored and colored. Its really stupid but I couldn't help myself.

So D&D and Doctor Who. I'm such a geek.

So, my friend introduced me to www.ommatidia.org. It's full of these weird, dreamlike, short (one hundred and one words each) stories. We both decided to illustrate one we liked. This is my attempt.

Once again, it's not shaded, but better to put something up than not.
(I just find shading tedious. Probably due to the fact that I have a very inefficient method of doing it on photoshop.)
To read the story search "Olivette" on the website.

Alright.
So, this didn't take off so much the first time around.
But this time is different. It's gonna be awesome.
I even got a new scanner as my birthday present to me.
So take two, yes?

This is my second portrait of my party in my D&D campaign. I'll get the first one up after I actually get said scanner out of the box.

From left to right is:
Shamus(halfling with knives), Gunther ( blink dog), Jordan (my character), Auspex (owl) Thymbraeus (multiple personalities not shown) Westley (dragon), Sancho (orc, blood brother to Shamus,) Mia (hot babe when not a huge animal ready to maul you) and Erik the Celric (of pelor).
It still isnt shaded yet, but hopefully that will get done soon.
